Understanding Spiritual Authority

As Believers, we’ve been given dominion and authority and rooted in God’s original plan for humanity. This authority was lost due to sin but restored through Jesus Christ’s salvation.

The Holy Spirit enables us to exercise spiritual authority. God gave humanity dominion over the earth and through Jesus, we’re restored to our original state of power and authority.

In the old Testament, Heroes like Moses, Joshua, Samson, Gideon, and David demonstrated remarkable faith and authority while in the new Testament, Believers were empowered by the Holy Spirit and they preached, healed and delivered.

Believers Exercise spiritual authority through:
1. Prayers and Declarations – Speaking life, peace and blessings over individuals, communities and nations.
2. Taking authority over darkness – Commanding satanic attacks to cease and releasing God’s power.
3. Intercessions – Standing in the gap for others and praying for salvation, healing and prosperity.

Believers can activate and apply their spiritual authority through:
1. Spiritual Warfare – Engaging in prayer battles against darkness.
2. Prayer walks – Praying for neighborhoods, communities and cities.
3. Intercessory prayers – Standing in the gap for others.
4. By having faith – Trusting God’s power and promises.
5. Being Obedient – Aligning our lives with God’s Word.
6. Being empowered – Yielding to the Holy Spirit’s guidance and power.

I pray that God gives every Believer the grace and strength to walk in God’s power and dominion and may they exercise this authority to bring glory to God, amen.
